Grove’s economy is anchored by six major industries: tourism, retail trade, service industry, health services, manufacturing and retirement. Major employers in the area that offer residents employment opportunities include Simmons Foods Inc., INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital, the City of Grove, Wyandotte Casino, Grand Lake Casino, and Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, among others.


There are a number of attractions and points of interests throughout Grove that will keep residents, visitors, families and classrooms busy. Street rod and automobile enthusiasts will relish in the over 50 exotic and classic vehicles at the Starbird’s National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame Museum. Nature lovers and those who enjoy learning more about antiques will want to head on over to Har-Ber Village, known nationally as one of the largest antique museums in the country. Har-Ber Village is situated on the shores of the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, where visitors get to enjoy in the museum’s collections and exhibits, along with the Sweet Annie Herb Garden, Ecology Center, Nature Trail, and Visitor Center.

If you happen to have a green thumb or enjoy walking through gorgeous, palatial gardens, then you don’t want to miss the lovely Lendonwood Gardens just a mile west of the Har-Ber Village. Featuring over 1,500 plants and towering oak trees in this three-acre botanical paradise, visitors will have a chance to enjoy meditative walks through an enclosed Zen garden, grassy pathways, and among nine waterfalls. The Lendonwood Gardens is just one of 12 botanical gardens within the State of Oklahoma. Other areas of interests worth checking out include the Cayuga Mission Church, Paddlewheel Riverboat, Historic Corey Hotel, the Pensacola Dam, and the Bernice State Park Nature Center.

The city of Grove also hosts many community events throughout the year, such as the Annual Pelican Festival along the shores of the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, the Harvest Moon Cruise Night, Annual Christmas Open House, the American Heritage Music Festival, Annual Home & Garden Show, Annual Grove Fest, Cajun Festival, and Grove Second Saturdays, which is held in downtown Grove.


Home to three golf courses, residents and visitors always make it a point to set up tee time during their stay here. Cherokee Grove Golf Course features a 9-hole public course that includes a driving range, snack bar, practice area and clubhouse; Patricia Island Golf Course is a semi-private 18-hole course designed by Tripp Davis and includes sand traps and lakes, swimming pool and tennis courts; and the Shangri-La Golf Course features two public championship golf courses.

Once tee time is over, head on over to the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees and enjoy the rest of the day by fishing for large mouth bass, channel catfish, white bass and spotted bass. Grand Lake is known as the second best lake in the state for bass tourneys with over 400 fishing tournaments held here throughout the year. Other city parks such as Kiwanis Park, Honey Creek State Park, Bernice State Park and Grand Marinas provide boat ramps, camping areas, playground areas, swimming pools, nature trails and full-service marinas for residents.
